Dions began in 1989 when founder Dion Crain opened a single neighborhood pizza spot on the west side of El Paso, Texas. Armed with nothing but a family recipe, a used pizza oven, and an unwavering belief that great food brings people together, he set out to create something the community could truly call its own.

Decades later, Dions has grown into a local institution — eight locations strong across Texas — yet the spirit remains exactly the same. Every pizza is hand-stretched, every salad freshly prepared, and every customer greeted like a neighbor. We haven't forgotten where we came from, and we never will.

The First Slice

Dion Crain opens the original Dions on Paseo del Norte in El Paso, TX. Word spreads quickly — the hand-tossed pizza and fresh salads win over the neighborhood within weeks.

Second Location Opens

Overwhelming demand leads to a second Dions on the east side of El Paso. The expanded kitchen allows us to introduce new menu items including our signature garlic bread and pasta dishes.

Online Ordering Launches

Dions becomes one of the first local restaurants in Texas to launch online ordering — a bold move that brings in a new wave of customers and dramatically reduces wait times.

Community Roots Program

We launch our "Community Roots" initiative, partnering with El Paso schools and local nonprofits. A percentage of every order goes back to the community that built us.

Statewide Expansion

Dions expands across Texas with four new locations, bringing our fresh-baked pizzas and homemade dressings to new cities while keeping the hometown feel intact.

Adapting & Giving Back

During a challenging year, Dions doubles down on contactless delivery, curbside pickup, and donates thousands of meals to frontline healthcare workers across El Paso County.
